Lymph nodes play a critical role in your immune system by helping to fight infection. They, like other parts of the body, can sometimes develop cancerous tumors. Those who have cancer in their lymph nodes usually had cancer in another part of their body that spread.
Cancer that first developed in lymph nodes is called lymphoma. There are two forms: non-Hodgkinand Hodgkin. Non-Hodgkin lymphoma is one of the most common types of blood cancer and is very treatable, whereas Hodgkin lymphoma is very rare and more aggressive.
